Weekly Update – 3/29/17

Hello, Internet!

Progress has been pretty steady this week. A lot of research, and a lot of outlining in preparation for Camp NaNoWriMo come April 1st. I’ve got about a quarter of an in-detail outline done, and the majority of my story outline for Perseus himself. While I could easily spend another week – or longer – continuing to develop and revise my outline, I ought to have enough of a framework to begin writing the book through April.

So, my current goal up til April starts is to get the first third of my outline completed as thoroughly as possible. This should entail about the first half of Perseus’ own story, and then various bits and pieces from other side characters. (I’m going to refrain from speaking too much about some of them here, since I’m pretty excited with my concept for The Age of Heroes.)

That’s all for me this week. I’ve been reading a bunch, but I’m not sure any of it is of a sort which I’d recommend to the casual reader. If you’re interested in exploring some of the primary texts from which we get the Greek myths, I do recommend the Anthology of Classical Myth (Trans. & Ed. by Trzaskoma et al). I have found it to be a useful resource.
